It's getting to be that time of year when the warm days give way to autumn chill. Autumn is one of my favorite times of year, living in the northeast I get a front-row seat to the spectacle of the changing leaves (which is also visible from space). People come here from all over the place just to watch the leaves change, we call them "leaf peepers". I hope to get some nice vivid shots this season, assuming the weather cooperates. Soon I'll be busting out the sweaters and scarves and long-sleeved shirts, toasting marshmallows over a fire, drinking specialty fall beverages. Cozy up under a thick home-made blanket and watch the leaves turn.

I just got back from vacation in Puerto Rico a couple days ago, so naturally I've been playing with some of my vacation shots. I downloaded Gimp and I've been watching YouTube videos on how to do different things as the mood strikes me. My first submission from my vacation shots "Beach" was a snap I took of my hubby wading into the waves and I thought his footprints in the sand behind him were kind of cool. The second one "Palm and Sky" I took while laying out by the pool and I just cropped the building out and played with the colors and shadows in the Windows Photo app. I'll be sifting through some of my other photos for good ones to play wi
